Kyle is an internationally recognized Urban & Regional Economist. He is known for his ability to shed light on the economic role of cities in the planning process and uses data driven/evidence-based approaches to inform decision-making.
Kyle has worked around the world for international organizations, national and sub-national governments, think tanks, and the private sector and has held academic appointments at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology (Stockholm) and Harvard University (Cambridge, MA). He is widely published and is an experienced speaker.
Since joining the Board as an inaugural member in 2015, Kyle has participated in Block by Block projects in Nairobi, Kosovo, Hanoi, Kalobeyei, and Addis Ababa. He was also part of the delegation that represented Block by Block at the Third United Nations Conference on Housing and Urban Development (Habitat III) in Quito, Ecuador.
Kyle completed his Doctorate in Urban and Regional Studies at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, where he also taught a course on Challenges for Metropolitan Urban Regions. Between 2017 and 2018 Kyle was a visiting researcher and Associate of the Department of Economics at Harvard University. He holds master’s and bachelor’s degrees from the United Kingdom and Canada. Kyle enjoys traveling and has visited more than 50 countries.
